At Garland Contracting (“Garland Contracting,” “we,” “us”), we value your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use this website to request a quote.

Canada’s federal private-sector privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), governs our practices.

1. Information We Collect

We limit collection to the personal information you give us through the quote forms on this website. That includes:

  • Name
  • Phone number
  • Email address (optional on the contact form)
  • Your property location (a town, a lake or a street address), so we can price the job and, if you hire us, find it
  • Any details about your siding, rot repair, roofing, deck, renovation or commercial project that you choose to share

If you call, text or email us instead of using a form, including photos of your project, we handle that information the same way.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use what you submit to give you a quote and, if you go ahead, to carry out and follow up on the work. We use it for nothing else.

  • No marketing: we do not use your email address or phone number for unsolicited marketing, newsletters or promotional campaigns.
  • No selling or renting: we do not sell, rent, trade or share your personal information with third-party marketers.

3. Website Analytics and Tracking

We do not use behavioural tracking, such as a Meta Pixel, to follow your activity on other websites or build an advertising profile of you. This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies.

  • Google Search Console: we may use it to monitor our website’s technical health and search performance. It works from anonymous, aggregated data, such as which search terms bring people to our site, and it does not collect anything that identifies you.

This site links to Google so you can read our reviews. If you follow those links, Google’s own privacy policy applies.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

Your form submission travels to us over an encrypted connection. We share your data with the two providers that deliver your request, and with no one else: our website host (Netlify, which receives form submissions) and our email provider. Their service terms require them to keep your data secure, and they may not use it for their own purposes.

These providers may store your information on servers outside Canada, including in the United States. The laws there may let local authorities access that information.

5. Data Retention and Safeguards

We keep your contact details for as long as we need them to answer your quote request or, if you hire us, to run the job and the relationship that follows. If you do not go ahead, we delete your information from our systems. If you hire us, we keep job and invoice records as long as we need them for warranty work and to meet tax and legal requirements.

This site uses industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption to protect your data in transit.

6. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request corrections to any inaccuracies
  • Request that we delete your information from our systems

If we cannot resolve a concern, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

7. Photographs on This Site

The photographs of our work on this site are original photos of real jobs, and Garland Contracting holds the rights to them. They are © Garland Contracting, all rights reserved. You may not copy, reproduce, republish or use them for any purpose without our written permission. To ask for permission, use the contact details below.

Some images on this site, including the photos on the Siding, Rot repair and Decks cards, are stock photos that illustrate the service. They do not show our work. They come from Pexels, from photographers Rachel Claire, Sadie Burnell and Đỗ Huy Hoàng, under the Pexels license.

Our photos show customers’ properties and do not show customers. If a photo of your property is on this site and you would rather it were not, tell us and we will take it down.
